A Son’s
Loving Lesson

In
the car, Marco sat alone the phone pressed tightly to his ear.
“I
did it, I showed my boys who is boss.” Marco whispers into the phone, his heart
rate spiking as he looks over at Gino and Jayden.
The
three of them finished setting up a set of tents for each of them, borrowed by
Jayden’s ex-boyfriend Bill’s family. While Jayden did not stay friends with
Bill after their break-up, Marco Gomez and Will Brady, Bill’s father did.
“Heh,
sounds like you put your sons into place. I can’t wait to hear the full story
at the next poker night,” Will Brady says, his voice full of mirth.
Marco
smiles wider, “Full details.”
“Now
remember what we discussed” Will Brady emphasizes, “You must, hit them both a
few more times...really cement your place at the head of house.”
Marco’s
eyes trail up Gino's torso as he pulls off his shirt, and heads into his tent.
“Yes, yes I will.” Marco’s voice trails off a little bit as he makes a fist.
Jayden seems to be tailing to him as Gino changes, coming out in a pair of
short, and grinning. Marco is unable to hear their conversation but he will
soon enough.
“Okay
buddy, happy busting.” Will chuckles.
The
phone goes dead, and Marco looks at the blank screen before charging the power
button off and exits the vehicle, a spring in his step as he walks over to his
sons. Ready to go ‘ball hunting.’
