Unplanned Guests
Day 2: Stuck
by Jimmy
Logan Kruger was so happy to say
goodbye to Zach.
Last night, Zach and his cousin Junior
first meeting did not go well. At breakfast there was a cold stare from Junior
that Logan felt could freeze Zach to his chair. Zach happily crunched his
Cheerio's and kept making comments about how much he loves “These nuts crack so
easy in my mouth” or “Nuts are so easily broken around me.”
Junior squirms on his chair, one hand
covering his goods.
Logan sighs, and changes the subject.
Not too long afterwards, Logan waves
goodbye to his friend Zach closing the door behind him. It's raining pretty
heavily and it looks like lounging by the pool is out for the day. Logan turns
back to Junior who is still moodily swirling his moving his metal spoon in
small circles around his cereal bowl. “Pool is out...how about we head out and
see a movie?”
Junior seems to perk up. “Can we go to
see the new horror film, Black Phone 2?” Unable to see a movie like that
without someone 18 or older, Junior was going to be forced to wait until it
hits on one of his screening platforms.
Logan grins, “Sure.”
“Thanks! You are the best.” Junior
grabs him in a fierce hug, and Logan takes in his scent of sugary cereal and
his musty bedhead smell.
“You need a shower.”
Junior pulls back and smells one of
his pits and makes a face, tongue sticking out. “Yeah, I do. But so do you.”
“Fair enough, let's go shower and
change before we go.”
Junior is already halfway up the
stairs, the floorboards creaking under his fast past sprint, clothes tossed off
as he runs.
Logan chuckles, picking up his
discarded clothing not wanting Chase's house keeper to be forced to do his
cousins dirty laundry. On the underwear, Logan feels a hard crusty stain under
his thumb and is reminded of how last night ended.
“Thank god Zach is gone...”
