Feedback

I’ve been writing ballbusting fiction for almost eight years now, and I know that my stories are no literary masterpieces. It might come as a surprise to you but I’m not reaching for the Nobel Prize (It’s pretty safe to say that I’ll be snubbed again this year…). Instead, I’m reaching straight for your dick. Whenever I write a story, I hope it’s entertaining and hot and maybe even makes you shoot a load or two.

Some of you have been reading my stories ever since I started this blog, and I’m really, really happy and thankful for all your support and feedback over the years.

Writing is a very tricky business: Sometimes the words just flow out of my fingers, and sometimes I can’t write a single letter for weeks. I have been lucky enough to enjoy a productive streak of more than a year now (knock on wood!), and I feel like I spit out stories like chain smokers consume cigarettes. But sometimes I wonder if the quality of my stories has suffered over the years.

I’m curious: What do you think? Have you noticed a change in quality in my work? Do you like my older stories better than my newer ones? Or is it the other way round? Or do you like them all? Or hate them all but read them anyway, waiting for the one story that doesn't disappoint you?

Let me know by posting a comment or sending me an email (alex@ballbustingboys.org)! I’d love to hear your opinion so I can improve my writing and give you the stories that you like to read! (I know that tastes differ a lot, and I won’t be able to satisfy each and every one – but I’ll certainly try… :-))

In addition, I’ve set up a new poll in the right column of this blog so you can let your voice be heard without having to write me. (If you are reading this post on your mobile device please click this link or go to the bottom of this page and choose "View web version" to vote in the poll.)

Let me know what you think! The poll will be open until the 31st of August.

Thank you!

Hi Alex! This is Daniel P., a reader of yours from the very beginning, and the lucky guy who got to be a part of "Daniel P. meets Danny and David". I am a HUGE fan of all your work--your stories are always so hot! Having followed your work from the start, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed everything you have done. The only suggestion I could make is to stay with the regular length stories--only because they are much easier to read, and are much hotter than the longer stories. Oh course, that is only my personal opinion, and maybe other people feel completely different! lol

Either way, thank you for all of the work you put into Ballbusting Boys! Your work is really the best there is, and your talent shows with every story you write! :)

Thank you very much, Daniel! Your words mean a lot to me!

I try to keep my stories to a certain length but sometimes the plot calls for a longer (or shorter) story. But I'm pretty sure that longer (or shorter) stories will be an exception... :-))

I feel like the older stories had a bit more story to them. And I know the focal point of these stories really isn't the storyline since you know, it's main goal is to get our rocks off, but I personally like the story. I think this is partly due to the Wanted: storyline you have. I love the idea, honestly I do. And I am greatly appreciative of you going out to your fans, it is something most writers don't do, and you honestly do it really well. But because you do this, it negatively impacts the story you built up in previous years. Maybe if more thought is put into the remaining stories in that series so it would coincide with the personality of the characters it would be good, but I understand if you wouldn't. You may not be ecstatic to write them, or might not be feeling them, and you probably feel obligated to write them since they are your fans suggestions, and you obviously care for your fans, which again, is greatly appreciated by not just me but everyone reading. (Horrible sentence structure, I apologize) Also it just may be my personal preferences, but I've seen less writing suiting my taste recently. I prefer vicious attacks that leave a guy disabled, merciless in a way. I'm not a fan of the playful games. Like for example, the latest story with Logan in the 2v1. That was probably one of my favorites in a while, and it's mainly due to the one kick he received from behind. That kind of busting is what I really enjoy. Logan was really hurt from that one blow, and that really turns me on. And something about the whole good guy getting it unexpectedly tickles my pickle. But I digress. I shall stop before I end up writing a novel.

I hope you don't mind the essay I wrote. But thank you for all the work you put into your blog, I am beyond appreciative. It really gives me something to look forward to (especially since BBmal seems to have stopped writing for whatever reason.) I also hope that this helps in some way. Anyways, thanks again and can't wait for the next story!

Thanks for your comments, guys!

@Orion:
Thank you! I think you're the first reader to mention the picture. I'm glad you like it!

@Anonymous:
Thank you very much for your feedback! That really helps a lot. You do have a point: Back when I started, my stories used to have dramatic arcs that spanned two, three, sometimes four or five stories. And the characters developed in different stories.

Now the stories are often complete episodes with a dramatic arc that ends with the conclusion of the story. The "Be our guest" series certainly works that way, and most of my recent stories are like that as well.

Actually, I felt that this is a more accessible format for most of my readers. (The exception are stories like "Boys will be boys" that tell a story in a series of chapters.)

But of course you have a point: The characters pretty much don't develop at all anymore. Maybe I should do something about that. I'll definitely think about it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me your opinion! I really appreciate it! If you have more thoughts that you'd like to share don't hesitate to send me an email (alex@ballbustingboys.org) or leave a comment here on the blog!

First, and before any of the following comments, I love your blog, and have been following it for years.

Of all the arcs you've done, the only one I didn't like was the one with Rocko (and it took time to remember that name). I like the stars being your characters. Though if you want to add a new one, that might help matters too. Maybe get in someone more rugged and built. Pro climber or something.

I agree with the lack of development of the characters, and that the vicious attacks can be better.

Why not combine them in the story arc with Ben and Logan. Maybe have Logan get shaken up by how badly he has his nuts handed to him, making him more nervous and tentative in some of his future fights against the boys. You could sell it that even if he wins against the guests, they're not professionals, so it doesn't do anything to bolster his confidence. Bring it back over time.

Or you could find a way to develop Leo (who's been all but gone from recent stories) and bring him back in a way that people want to see more of him. Maybe his absence can be explained by being at the gym or a modeling agency or something, so he now comes back as a tall but more build skater who's more capable of dishing it out.

I found your blog in the middle of one of your epic stories, and it was instantly accessible, so I wouldn't worry too much about the arcs. Though I would still limit direct arcs like Zack's BBQ to about 5 stories, as for those who aren't taken with the stories, more than that really will start to drag.

Also, after doing the "origin story" for the twins, you could do something for all the boys. Maybe Kev has older brothers and/or was bullied at school, and they mashed his balls on a regular basis, and it was only on the advice from others that he nailed them back. Then the gym was a natural thing to follow to stop that happening again in the future, and the next time he saw the bullies/his brothers (or even step brothers) he annihilates them. Again, that could be done in a 1-3 part story, and it's character building.

Feel free to ignore any and all of that though, as no matter what happens, if you continue to write, I'll continue to read.

Thank you very much for your feedback, Paul!

I love your ideas about Leo and Logan, and I'll see if I can come up with something.

The Rocco stories are very different from the rest, and I guess you either love them or hate them... Either way, writing them was an awesome experience... :-))

The twins' origin story generated very little feedback, so I thought it wasn't something readers are interested in. Your ideas sound hot and I promise I'll think about it. :-))

Again, thank you very much for your feedback! It really means a lot to me!

I'll say nothing more than - you and your stories are the best of the best.

Alex,
I love your new stories as much as the old ones and i certainly have not noticed any drop in quality.
I love the way you've kept the same characters from the start. They are all so familiar that there's no need for lengthy "setting the scene" introductions. On the other hand the characters have developped through the years and are (in most cases) less one-dimensional than before. Great examples are David and Parker.
Like some other readers i struggled with the Rocco stories. I just didn't like the characters that seemed old and dirty, the writing quality was great.
Finally just wanted to mention what i love most : your interaction with the audience and enthusiasm for taking płot ideas from your readers and turning them into literally treasures:-)
Nobel price is coming your way soon! Keep up the great work!
