Spam comments and word verification

Unfortunately my blog has been flooded with more than a dozen automated spam comments in the past 30 minutes. To stop them I have activated the word verification feature, hoping that this will stop the flood.

I know that it's a hassle, and I'll monitor the situation closely. I hope I'll be able to switch it off again soon to make commenting easier for you.

In the meantime: Sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. That sounds incredibly annoying, but I'm sure nobody will mind the word verification thing.

    Also, this is the guy who said he'd like to write a story with Simon and his boyfriend, I've finished the first one and was wondering if it would be easier to copy and paste it into an email or attach a word document.

  3. Thanks for your comments, guys!

    @Daniel:
    Just copy and paste it into an email. That works best for me. If you prefer to send a word doc that's fine with me, too. I can't wait to read your story! :-))

    @MxMachoNuts:
    Don't worry. Shutting the blog down never crossed my mind! :-))

    Hopefully that fixes the spam problem! Sounds terribly annoying!

  5. Thanks for your comment, Jimmy! It looks like it worked. Apparently spam programs haven't found a way around word verification yet. :-))

  6. Alex you are just smarter than the spammers and that's what matters!

  7. No worries, I was confusing your blog with Jayse's ballbusting stories, he's getting hammered with spam and was thinking of shutting down.

  8. Thanks for your comment, MxMachoNuts! I talked to Jayse when his blog was attacked with comments. Seems like that kind of thing is the new normal unfortunately... :-/
